VERTEBRATES

IGUANAS

An iguana is a vertebrate because it has a spinal column and an internal skeleton.

It is a reptile and it has hard scales covering its body. It has four short legs with five toes on each foot.

It also has quite a long tail. It breathes air with its lungs.




It looks a little scary but not to worry! It is an herbivorous animal. Iguanas eat plants.

They are oviparous and they lay their eggs on land, so their young are born from eggs.
