An
iguana is a vertebrate because it has a spinal
column and an internal skeleton.
It is a reptile and it
has hard scales covering its body. It has four
short legs with five toes on each foot. It also has quite a long tail. It
breathes air with its lungs.
It
looks a little scary but not to worry! It is an herbivorous
animal. Iguanas eat plants.
They are oviparous and
they lay their eggs on land, so their young are born from eggs.
